Hey people, Happy New Year! I know it's a bit late but still, HNY!

It's been a long time since I last blogged but I have to record down this one day of my life that I will never forget and this day will be New Year's Eve. Well, being such good friends, TH and I have decided to pick up QW from the airport but we were both late for our meeting time. So we took the MRT happily, so eager to countdown to the end of 2008. We alighted at Tanah Merah, waited for the train to Changi Airport. It was 5 minutes to 0000. We waited for 2-3 minutes and there was an announcement saying there's no more MRT to Changi Airport. We immediately ran out hoping to find some place where there's a crowd so that we can count down together with them. In the end, by the time we zap our ez-link card and before we could escape out of the MRT station, it was 1st January.

I didn't know why I was so act pro. If we took the MRT from Tanah Merah to Changi airport, it takes 8 minutes so I thought it wouldn't take too long for us to get there by walking. Afterall, we had 1 more hour before QW will reach SG. So we walked happily, on the road we thought will lead us to Changi Airport. Then, we ended at some golf club. You won't imagine how long we had walked, just to get to the wrong place. Then we u-turned, and sang as we walked until we found the Expo MRT station. So we follow the MRT tracks and walked and walked. Then, the track went down to underground. We had no idea what to do but to follow instinct. While we were walking, we met some young adults who asked us to join them in their small roadside party. Of course we declined but we asked them if this was the right way to the airport. They seemed a bit shock and told us the airport is far far away. They offered to give us a ride but being a good CME student, we ignored them. lol. Actually I didn't knew they offered us a ride until TH told me. Would I have hopped on then? I don't know. After walking and screaming instead of like singing, we suddenly heard dog barking. Then we saw them running out. I love dogs but you have no idea how freaked out I was then. I remembered my dad saying that those industrial dogs won't leave the place they are suppose to guard but still, dogs might be different among individuals, like people. We shut up and immediately walked damn fast although we were damn tired already. By then, it must have been 2am midnight already...

We reached a carpark which seemed like a dead end because it was in a circular shape. We were totally giving up. There didn't seem like there'll be any more hope after 2+ hours walking aimlessly. As we turned back, suddenly a half naked uncle shouted at us. So we shout back and asked him how to get to Changi airport. The uncle was like " Changi airport? So far you know? Aiyo Changi airport ah..." Then he told us to cut across the big stretch of field and we'll see a road that will lead to Changi airport. I was so freaking scared. I couldn't even see what i'm walking on. Could only feel as we step on the grass. Near the end of the stretch of field were freaking long grass and I got even more scared, scared that there might be snakes in the tall grass. TH and I hold hands and ran across the field and finally we reached a pathway. We were walking at the road shoulder of an expressway. Cars were zooming so near. I was hoping someone would stop and help but no, there's not a single kind soul. Many people honked at us but didn't stop to help us. We had to run across the expressway to turn go across. We were scared that there'll be some crazy Ferrari speeding at the expressway so we ran damn fast. If you've watched the news paper a few days before, you'll know what i'm talking about.

I am so damn sure that by the way we reached Changi airport, it was 3am sharp. We sat on the chair and couldn't move at all. We didn't manage to pick up QW cos SHE WENT HOME!!!! AHHHH!!! But it's ok, i'm not angry with you, QW. I managed to spend my most memorable New Year with TH!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope I've paid for all the karma in my life through this journey.
